Guided Intuition Nature Walks - (open to all)
Table Mountain - Cape Town
UNESCO World Heritage Site

While in Cape Town, a must is a guided walk on Table Mountain. This experience out in nature offers you a unique opportunity to take in some of the most breathtaking views in the world.

Table Mountain is recognised globally for its extraordinarily rich, diverse and unique flora and fauna, this singular land formation - with its rugged cliffs, steep slopes and sandy flats - is a truly remarkable natural feature.

South Africa is the only country in the world to have within its borders an entire floral kingdom (only six such kingdoms exist). The Cape Floral Kingdom - of which the Table Mountain National Park forms an extremely significant part - is recognised as the world’s most prominent "hot-spot" of plant diversity. Table Mountain in Cape Town supports 2200 species, more than the entire United Kingdom. Thus although the Fynbos comprises only 6% of the area of southern Africa it has half the species on the subcontinent, and in fact has almost 1 in 5 of all plant species in Africa.

These walks are just that and not a hike for those who are looking to get super fit. The walks have been designed for all ages (the ages range from 18 - 72 amongst those who normally come along on my regular Sunday Intuition Walks). Anyone with a moderate level of fitness can enjoy the trails.

Click here to view all the trails on offer. These routes have been put together to offer you a variety of landscapes and views.

Safety is very important and the group size ranges between a minimum number 10- 15 people (excluding the guide). See Time Table for a listing of available dates. Email or call to see if dates listed are available.

Being within powerful nature landscapes slows down one's pace to smell the flowers along the way and take in the breathtaking scenery, regenerating our energy for life with its unpredictable turns. It also dilutes extreme individualism and its inevitable aloneness. Being out in nature for longer periods can be about a journey to a place where disordered,  uncontrolled life can have expression because it is held. Nature can hold you in balance; in its tranquillity and harmony of beingness.

These Sunday walks are just that and not a hike for those who are looking to get super fit. The walks are for all ages, (those who come along range from 18 - 72) so this should not be a factor in you not coming along, as we walk as fast as the slowest person, with plenty of stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and be present to the gifts that nature offers.

There are various routes that we take and route times are normally about 5 hours. Once every 6 - 8 weeks a full day walk is offered. The idea being put forward is to slow down our internal rhythms to be able to connect with all our six senses, as we are supported by nature's beauty along the way. Our common link being our soulful sharing and passion to be out in nature...

These walks have been taking place since March 2004

A reminder for those who have not been on the walks before, the walks are intended to be of such a nature that we are able to slow down and through our senses, experience some of the wonders that nature has to offer. The slowing down creates an opportunity for re-connection within.  Not to mention seeing some of Cape Town's magical spots.

The next group walk will be on Sunday 30th November 2014 @ 8.30am – Palmiet River Trail and Swimming – [12km] - Kogelberg Nature Reserve situated some 90 km south-east of Cape Town Group Walk Exp - 26 - Going so far - Open to all] - This Easy out-and-back trail starts at the reserve's office building and then heads out on the trail alongside the Palmiet River. The trail follows the river where swimming is possible in some of the first few pools. The incredible scenery and floral wonders make this four hour walk very worthwhile, and you will possibly come back and do it again. Our lunch break, will be at a spot called the Beach. Kogelberg Nature Reserve is often considered the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, because of the exceptional quality of its fynbos. The reserve lies within the southern stretch of the rugged Hottentots Holland mountain range, and has remained isolated and remarkably unspoilt. Its high mountain peaks, steep kloofs, valleys and several tributaries of the pristine Palmiet River create a sense of remote wilderness. The reserve comprises a core area of 18 000 ha and several smaller fragments. The trail is one of my favourites, from past experience, I am definitely looking forward to this one again. Extra time has been allocated to enjoy some of the interesting rock features and time to swim and relax.. Estimated time of walk end 5pm - COST: R80.00 or R40.00 if have a Wild card - Pay on the day - To read more about this walk "CLICK HERE"
