Being in Nature on a regular basis helps us to connect body, mind and spirit energetically and leaves you rejuvenated and with a sense of grounding. For those that are drawn by the calling of Intuition and nature, these walks make for a great way to meet like-minded, soulful individuals who share similar interests.
A reminder for those who are new to the listing: I will organise longer hikes away on a more regular basis (every 2 or three months). Cape Nature certainly has a lot to offer.
** If you have any doubts about the type of walk or pace in terms of fitness level, please call and I can advise accordingly.
*** It is always my aim to offer routes that are accessible for most people, but some minimum level of fitness is required.
**** In general the walks on offer would be rates as slower most of the other walking groups, I cater for extra time allocated for breaks along the way

@ -- @ -- Sunday 22nd March 2015 @ 8.30am – Elands River Trail - du Toits Kloof & Swim – – [7.5km] - Group Walk Exp - [30 Going so far - Fully Booked] The trail starts in du Toits Kloof, immediately to the right after the Worcester exit of the Huguenot Tunnel. The meeting point is in the parking area at the tunnel control truck stop, about 70m from the tunnel. From the parking area, the trail heads back towards the tunnel and, beneath the two bridges. A sign indicates the direction of the Elands River Trail. It is about 3.5km (2 hours) to the boundary of the conservation area. The first few hundred metres are the most difficult, as the path has been cut out against a very steep slope. After this section the route becomes easier, following the river along pools and patches of sand. At places the path swings away from the river, climbing quite high and providing panoramic views over the valley. As it descends to the river and leads towards Fisherman's Cave the vegetation becomes denser. From this overhang the path follows the river for another 0.5km to the boundary and to the place we will stop for lunch. Extra time has been allocated to enjoy some of the interesting rock features and time to swim and relax. [We will have a swim on route at our tea and lunch breaks, so don’t forget to bring your costume and a towel] - Our return route we will follow the same way back with alternative views of the Du Toitskloof Mountains and stunning fynbos vistas. The estimated time of walk end will be at 5pm. To View Pictures from this event on FACEBOOK see - https://www.facebook.com/events/1590448387863818/

Set on 517 hectares of private reserve, a 517 hectare private nature reserve that borders the 80,000 hectare Cederberg Reserve , it’s hardly surprising that Gecko Creek Lodge is Lonely Planet’s “pick of the Cederberg".
Offering comfortable twin / double cabins and tents overlooking the valley, a cool Lapa for gathering and cooking as well as a fire warmed open air Boma , salt water swimming pool and stunning setting make this the ideal hub from which to explore the Cederberg. A short distance away is the Olifants River which has the richest variety of endemic fish species of all rivers south of the Zambezi, including the Yellow Fish and Red fin Minnow.
The Cederberg Mountains, home to the San Bushmen for thousands of years, is a heritage to these remarkable and gentle peoples. Their rock art (dated to between 300 and 20,000 years old ) combined with the natural surreal rock structures imply this could well be the cradle of man, our greatest ancestors!
Land so unspoilt by light that the stars are like 'diamonds on velvet' and one can see a shooting star every 10 minutes. This is the home of the internationally well known Rooibos Tea and Buchu medicinal plant. This Fynbos region has one of the most intense species and subspecies of plants in the world. An intricate floral kingdom astonishing in its delicate beauty. Populated by the Cape Leopard, Baboon, Antelope, Lynx and 165 bird species including the magnificient Black Eagles.
This fully equipped self-catering camp is very private and safe with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Take leisurely walks in the veld or do hikes on the walks around the retreat centre were a wide variety of birds and wildlife can be seen.
