Being in Nature on a regular basis helps us to connect body, mind and spirit energetically and leaves you rejuvenated and with a sense of grounding. For those that are drawn by the calling of Intuition and nature, these walks make for a great way to meet like-minded, soulful individuals who share similar interests.

A reminder for those who have not been on the walks before, the walks are intended to be of such a nature that we are  able to slow down and through our senses, experience some of the wonders that nature has to offer. The slowing down creates an opportunity for re-connection within. Not to mention seeing some of Cape Town's magical spots.

2 Hour Guided Private Group Coasteering Adventure that includes rock jumps, penguins, snorkelling with Gravity Adventures from Windmill Beach in Simons Town.

Anyone can join and you don't have had been on any previous Sunday Walks

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/events/182973465592704/ or if you are on Meetup - https://www.meetup.com/Intuition-Nature-Walks-Cape-Town-Socials-Weekends-Away/events/244713625/

Cost – R625.00 p/p in full to secure spot – Booking Essential with prepayment.

Full wetsuits to be provided worn to keep you warm. This micro adventure from Gravity adventures offers Coasteering in Simonstown from the stunning Windmill Beach and 2 hrs of exploring the inter-tidal zone, snorkelling and rock jumping. This will certainly be an adventure not to be missed. We did this back in March 2017 and it was so much fun ;-)

Coasteering is a new adventure activity that allows you to get up close and personal with the ocean! Pioneered in Wales, Gravity is proud to be the first to offer this activity near Cape Town. Coasteering bears some resemblance to Canyoning or Kloofing but takes place along a protected coastline rather than in a river course. Each participant is equipped with wetsuit, PFD, helmet and booties and is accompanied by a guide. A second guide acts as a safety back up from a boat in the water. The activity takes place among the protected boulders near Simons Town. The crystal clear waters and protection from the South Easter make this the perfect location. An added bonus is the great marine life – swimming with penguins anyone? Although there are a number of rock jumps, none are

What is on offer:  This will be a private group. It makes no difference whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced pro.

Here’s a link to a video of the event on offer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFZca_ms37U

You will find coasteering listed in the Oxford English Dictionary. From the combination of the words coast and mountaineering, coasteering is defined as: “the sport or activity of exploring a rocky coastline by climbing, jumping, and swimming.” It’s a bit like kloofing – just in the sea. Who is this activity aimed at? Everyone really; however, if you don’t like kelp, are afraid of heights, and swimming in the ocean is not your thing, the best you give this one a miss. Gravity Adventures provides everything you need, from wetsuits and life jackets to helmets, goggles and snorkels. The meeting point for this coast advent is from Windmill Beach in Simon’s Town.

You start off by snorkelling around the sheltered bay and then headed around a large granite rock in the sea so that we were flanked by open water on one side and the rock and kelp forest on the other. Our guide will point out some of the marine life that can be seen for example starfish, blue and red anemones, soft feathery looking fanworms, nudibranchs, speckled klipvis and Hottentot fish weaving their way through the kelp. From there we head on the exciting bouldering part as we make our way onto the granite rocks and manoeuvred into position for the first leap. The next few jumps range between 2m to 7m, but they are all optional. In all an adventure not to missed. A bonus will if we get to swim with the penguins.

The location is 45min up the West Coast. Now, this is Sandboarding in Style ;-), as you won’t need to walk back up the dunes. Sandboarding is a great new adventure sport! All it takes to sandboard is a positive attitude, a splash of sunscreen, a few basic instructions and you will be blasting down a sand dune in no time at all. Anyone can enjoy sandboarding. Sandboarding Cape Town offers tours and trips in the Atlantis dunes of Western Cape, South Africa. We also transport you straight into the dunes in our 4x4! No Snowboarding experience required. Cape Town Dunes best overall spot with 50-metre dunes

What is on offer:  This will be a private group. It makes no difference whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced pro.

The real art of sandboarding is balancing your weight with your feet fixed to a sandboard whilst skimming down a sand dune. You can control your need for speed by firstly selecting a dune with a height and angle that you are comfortable testing your limits on, and secondly controlling your descent using a method referred to as carving which is the art of shifting your weight from your heels to your toes forcing the board to steer left or right. Once these skills have been mastered you can start throwing in a few tricks of your own like jumping and ramping off smaller dunes and busting out backflips with 180 degree spins! There are numerous sand dunes throughout Southern Africa.

Gecko Creek Wilderness Lodge- http://www.geckocreek.com/gallery.php and our base accommodation location is always an annual favourite to explore the Cederberg, as we get to book out the whole Reserve as a private group. It will also be our 4th time that we will be returning to Gecko Creek Wilderness Lodge and a great space as a base camp to explore new areas of the Cederberg that you might not have to before.

We will be returning visit to Truitjieskraal Nature Reserve near Krom River for a full day experience.  Here is a video of this sacred site - https://vimeo.com/169700744 - Truitjieskraal arguably boasts the most impressive of these sandstone formations in the area with rock art dating back to 5000 years ago and rock formations formed about 500 million ago. Cape Nature now offers an interpretive trail which takes visitors on a historical journey through San and Khoekhoe cultures spanning millions of years.  We briefly visit this sacred site back in 2017 and this time we will be spending more time to explore this ancient wonder. In the words of Liesel Kershoffy, “If you have visited Truitjieskraal before, you would know that it creeps into your soul. It is spiritual, it’s quiet and it demands your respect. Most people whisper as they walk between the rock formations. Truitjieskraal has that effect on you” This is so true and those that were there in June 2017 in our group, I am sure can vouch for this too, a truly breathtaking sacred nature experience.

We will also be exploring the Wolfberg Cracks which is one of the best known and spectacular parts of the magnificent Cederberg. The Wolfberg Cracks are located near Sandrift. It’s about an hour hike up to the start of the cracks. Once on top, you are rewarded with spectacular views over the Cederberg. This is a must for all, as we explore the eroded ancient rock formations. There are two ways up to the top and the right-hand crack is the most rewarding, that always best done in a group, with its winding routes. Within the cracks, there are two enormous sandstone arches within the mountain. This one of the main break stops to really appreciate this sacred wonder of nature. We will spend more time on the Plateau as we taking in the spectacular views

Cost R1, 680.00 per person for singles – 14 spots available in the 9 x Safari Style tents and Cost R1, 880.00 per person for couples per person in cabins with stunning views – 4 spots available (One is a twin and the other is king). If you are not able to pay the full amount, then a 50% deposit to secure your booking with the balance to be paid on the 1st of May 2018. This will be a self- catering option, with shared communal lunch and dinner.

What is on offer:

The Friday will be allocated to own time, as you explore this stunning reserve and highlight as before will be our sunset experience on Leopard Rock as we watch the sunset around this sacred ancient Khoisan Site.

On Saturday when we visit the lesser known Truitjieskraal Nature Reserve near Krom Rivier in the Matjiesrivier Nature Reserve and a World Heritage Site.  Here is a video of this sacred site - https://vimeo.com/169700744  - Recently opened in 2016 as a Heritage site, this has to be one of the recommended sacred sites that everyone has to see and spend to explore properly.  Truitjieskraal Nature Reserve which is situated inside. Cape Nature now offers a trail with an interpretation which takes visitors on a historical journey through San and Khoekhoe cultures spanning millions of years.

On Sunday we will be doing the Wolfberg Cracks which is one of the best known and spectacular parts of the magnificent Cederberg up to the top of the plateau. The duration of the trail up and down will be about 7 hours. Here is a video of what you might see on route - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj4LfcYxWig

On Monday there will own time to relax and or explore one of the many trails at Gecko Creek, being the Elephant Rock Trail, Leopard Trail or even up to the view of Africa trail. All these trails you can do on your own.  You can also enjoy a swim or just explore the spring flowers on display. There will also be allocated own time for relaxation or Soulful reflection time out and star gazing opportunities under the night sky. "VERY IMPORTANT & NEW Joining Requirements"

Please email first with your cell number or call me directly (Do not just mark yourself as going on Facebook / Meetup) to check for availability and to book on - iain@awakening-intuition.com or for more info, contact Iain Macdonald on Tel: 072 3272840 or 021 4626755 - This event is booked in advance due to limit availability of the permits and the accommodation in the area to ensure availability.

There are only two requirements to join this event. One is that we have spoken on the telephone so that I can to give you a sense of what is on offer before you book. The other is that you need to have done one of the regular Sunday walks that I offer in the past 6 months or at least one of the regular walks in the six months leading up to the event. This structure/qualifying requirement has been put in place so that I can gauge your fitness levels & meet you in person and determine whether you will be able to cope with the hike on offer. Joining in on at one of the walks before the event, also enhances the sense of soulful connectedness, as you will know some of the people going. The weekends away offer a combination of an adventure of soulfulness, relaxation, group sharing of the day’s experience and time out is allocated for quiet time. By joining a walk I also get a chance to meet you and you will get to know what is on offer in person. This weekend away will be suitable for most levels of fitness. This extra time on the trails on these weekends away provides time to connect with the beauty of nature, including plenty of opportunity for taking pictures. There is also own time allocated on these weekends to explore the beauty of the place where we are staying. Often there is an opportunity to swim if it’s warm enough.
